Fostering a culture of reading and thought by serving Switzerland County’s information, life-long learning and leisure pursuits.

Get A Library Card

A Switzerland County Public Library card is the best deal in the county. Checking out materials and attending programs are free of charge for county residents. Not only do you get access to materials at SCPL, but you can access materials from nearly 130 other libraries and library systems that can be sent to our library for free! To get a library card, you must be a resident of Switzerland County with a valid government-issued ID with the correct address. If your ID does not have the correct address, you will need the old ID along with an official piece of mail (utility bill, tax document, etc.) with the correct address postmarked within the last 30 days. Other proof of address may be accepted, so call to ask if you are unsure.

Children ages 5-17 may get a full-access library card with permission of an adult who will be responsible for the materials. The adult must be a Switzerland County resident and follow instructions above. Unsponsored children may still be eligible for a limited-access card if they are a resident of the county or a student at a Switzerland County school.

Nonresidents may purchase a card for $30. This card is valid for one year and may be used to check out materials held by the Switzerland County Public Library. This card cannot be used at another Evergreen Indiana library or to place holds from other Evergreen Indiana libraries.
