A Switzerland County Library card is the best deal in the county. Here’s what you need to get a library card.

Library Card Requirements

Resident Cards: patron must show proof of residency in Switzerland County, or proof of property ownership, plus a valid Driver’s License or State ID with photo. Acceptable forms of proof are:

  • Property tax statement
  • Bank statement
  • Driver’s license with current address
  • Mail (bill or bank statement) with current address

Patrons with Evergreen Indiana cards may use their Evergreen card at Switzerland County Public Library, subject to the policies of the Evergreen Indiana Consortium (pdf)

Reciprocal Borrowing Cards: Patrons with valid cards from other Indiana libraries that participate in reciprocal borrowing may have a library card provided they present their home library cards and are patrons in good standing at the home library.

Non-resident Card: Patrons with proof of Indiana residency with a valid library card from a home library which does not participate in reciprocal borrowing may have a non-resident card for $30.00 per year.

PLAC Cards: Public Library Access Cards are available for Indiana residents who show proof of residency and have a valid card from their home library. Patrons must purchase PLAC cards at their home library. The PLAC card fee is $50.00 and PLAC cards may be used at any Indiana public library.
