March 9th, 2021
The regular monthly meeting of the Switzerland County Public Library Board of Trustees was held Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at 3:30 pm in the meeting room of the library. Attending were Debbie Margison, Diana Barry, Mary Jane Rogers, Bruce Williams, Allan Bear, Emily Fox, and Heather Peelman. Not attending were Stacy Streett and Sharon Deck.

Fox reported activity is picking up and hours will be expanded in April. In-person programming will also resume in April.
Fox reported laptops for staff have come in and will be used for video conferencing and in case an employee needs to work from home. Fox reported the library renewed their Amazon Prime Business account, as it was very useful last year. Programmers are gearing up for summer reading and will be applying for funding and mailing letters to businesses this month. Promotional summer reading supplies have been ordered. Fox also reported that the library has been fine-free since March 1st and the library ordered masks and hand sanitizer to promote the change. It has been well-received.
Bills and claims were presented. Bear made a motion to approve the claims, seconded by Barry and passed unanimously.
Time for Public Comments
The Emergency Policy was reviewed. The only changes were updated contact phone numbers for contracted services and maintenance workers. Barry motioned to approve the changes, seconded by Rogers and passed unanimously.
Fox asked if the library would be allowed to close from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on May 28th for an all-staff training for summer reading. Barry asked if the changes would be advertised in advance and Fox said that it would be posted on the door about a week before the closure and that it would be printed on all calendars and posted on the website. With that stipulation in place, Barry motioned to approve the closure, seconded by Margison, and passed unanimously.
The library will be closed on April 2nd for Good Friday and Saturday hours will return the following weekend.
With no further business, the meeting adjourned at 3:45 p.m.
