Library Re-Opening Safeguards
Switzerland County Public Library Re-opening Safeguards
Per Executive Order 20-26, “All Hoosier employers shall develop a plan to implement measures and institute safeguards to ensure a safe environment for their employees, customers, clients, and members. The plan shall be provided to each employee or staff and posted publicly.” The plan must address the following four points:
Employee Health Screening Process
Employees reporting to work at the Switzerland County Public Library will do a self-assessment health screening before coming into work. They will ask themselves the following questions:
- Do I have a fever?
- Do I have a persistent, dry cough not attributed to allergies or another known condition?
- Am I experiencing any other COVID-19 symptoms?
- Am I caring for someone in my household with any of these conditions?
If the answer to any of these questions is yes, staff will notify his or her supervisor and not report for work that day. If the employee has been exposed to someone with COVID-19 or lives with someone exposed to COVID-19, they will not report for work.
-Items returned locally will be quarantined for 48 hours.
-After the quarantine period, materials will be cleaned with a proven disinfectant before being returned to shelves.
-Disinfectants include but are not limited to Lysol and Clorox products, 70% (or higher) alcohol solutions, or bleach solutions.
-Library materials coming from other libraries via InfoExpress will be quarantined for 72 hours before being checked in.
Frequently Used Surfaces
-Surfaces will be cleaned with a proven disinfectant based on frequency of use. Workstations will be cleaned with a proven disinfectant between each use and high-touch surfaces will be monitored and cleaned throughout the day.
Compliance With Social Distancing
